St Giles, the greatest mediaeval Parish Church in Wales, is still in use for the purposes for which it was built, more than 500 years ago. It is heated, lit and open daily from 10am-4pm for visitors and private prayer. We would ask that Group and School visits are by prior appointment please. In addition, Tower Tours are available every week on Thursdays and Saturdays at 1230pm , weather permitting, also children must be accompanied by an adult. The “Shop at St Giles” sells a wide range of cards, gifts and souvenirs as well as the official full colour Church Guidebook. Nant Mill’s annual duck derby and fun day will take place on Wednesday August 13 starting at 1.30pm. Ducks can be sponsored for just 50p and there is a first prize of £50. Other activities include Picnic Circus, Face Painting and a bouncy elephant castle. Refreshments will be available all afternoon.

An rts project will be held throughout the summer at the Gwersyllt Community Resource Centre and the Plas Pentwyn Centre in Coedpoeth. People will have the chance to try their hand at skills including silk painting, drawing, clay and plaster work and mosaics. The project is open to all ages - but under 11s must be accompanied by an adult.

It will take place every Wednesday from July 23 to August 27, 9.30am - 12.30pm in Gwersyllt and 1.30pm - 4.30pm in Coedpoeth. For more information contact Toni Godolphin of West Wrexham Community Development Team on 01978 722987.

Wrexham Jobs Fair takes place in the Memorial Hall today (July 2) between 10.30am and 3pm. Over 300 jobs will be on offer thanks to the development of a new retail park.

There will be twenty major employers at the jobs fair, organised by Jobcentre Plus and Wrexham County Borough Council, to fill vacancies at the new Eagles Meadow development and in the town centre.

Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and Next are just a few of the big names that will be there.
